Two brothers
Steije & Lars
We're Steije and Lars, two brothers. We each started out with our own web shop, but together turned out to be more fun, and better. Fornello is what grew out of that: great bread makers, honest guidance in plain English, and recipes that actually work. No fuss. We're nowhere near done, and every day we learn from the thousands of people baking at home with our machines.
How it began
From two Bol stores to Fornello

2023
Two brothers, two web shops
Lars and I each ran our own Bol stores in the kitchen niche, separately. We wanted more than to sell individual products: we wanted to build a real brand.

June 2023
Started together, in Vietnam
Steije was traveling in Vietnam, and Lars flew out to join him. That's where we decided to do it together, because one plus one is more than two. Fornello was born.

In search of the best bread maker
We tested countless kitchen products. One model stood out: the Supremo, already a proven bestseller in the US. Exactly the quality we were after.

October 2024
To China, to the source
The manufacturer was nowhere to be found online. So we flew to the Canton Fair in China and kept searching until we found the maker of our model.

The first container
From one small container full of bread makers to a growing warehouse. In the early days we did almost everything ourselves, right down to the unloading.

Building from Amsterdam
Today we're building Fornello with our team, full speed ahead. Our ambition: to become the biggest bread maker and bread brand in Europe.
